No Price Too Great

About the Book
Imagine finding the one person you were destined to spend a lifetime with, then having to spend a lifetime waiting?
This is the story of Lee and Ping, a man and a woman from different ends of the globe who find their happily ever after in each other’s arms and spend what seems like a lifetime trying to overcome critical friends, an uncaring immigration process, cultural chasms, and mountains of paperwork to set foot on the road to happily ever after.
Born into poverty, a young Lee spent his days attending school, and his nights working at a bakery for less than fifty cents an hour to do what he could to help as his mother and disabled father struggled to feed their family of eight. Caring educators helped him stretch his mind beyond the limits of his poverty. Joining the Marines thrust him into the middle of an unpopular war with his life on the line, but gave him the opportunity he needed to leave his early plight in life behind him.
Finding himself divorced and living alone after earning a law degree and enjoying a successful legal and business career, Lee never expected another chance at happiness. But he found it with Ping, a Chinese woman much younger than he, who lived on the other side of the world. In a China that didn’t encourage women to divorce or raise children alone, Ping had the courage to leave her husband, build a successful business career, and raise her daughter Cici alone. She yearned for and finally found a second chance at happiness when she found Lee, after the two were introduced by mutual friends, and sparks flew.
The course of true love doesn’t always run smooth, however. It would take more than a year and a half of separation and discouragement and agonizing waiting before Ping and Cici would have the paperwork they would need to move to the United States . Once there, they would be forced to adapt to a new lifestyle and a new culture in a country where the only person they knew was the man who held their future in the palm of his hands - and could crush it just as quickly.
Never faltering, rarely stumbling, and erring only once but finding their way back just as quickly, “No Price Too Great” tells the story of a family from opposite ends of the world for whom no price was too great to have the love and the family and the future that they were dreaming of. You will love the daily chronicle of events in their lives once they were together, and the surprising finish to the book helps make it all very worthwhile to read.
